Some of my earliest memories about pareos (or sarongs) are about my mother wearing either bright, colorful pareos or animal print ones, specifically a cheetah print one with solid black edges. I always thought that they made her look so glamorous, but with time I actually learned that this classic beach item is really versatile! I’ve worn them as tops, dresses, skirts, even used them as beach blankets, the point is I never go to the beach without one! When we started thinking about designing these pareos, we knew we wanted them to be a reflection of different beaches in Puerto Rico. Today and everyday, we give back from every sale, to help Puerto Rico’s homeless animals via Colitas Sonrientes Inc. This was one of the main reasons we decided to launch Ni|BEACHWEAR, we believe our everyday choices can have a positive impact on anyone and anything. Local, non-profit organizations work tirelessly to help feed, save and find forever homes to our homeless animals and they need the support of an entire community to continue their work. We recently shot what has been, to date, our favorite photoshoot. All the beautiful flowers and fruits were locally sourced. We love that we’ve been able to create our brand, not only inspired by our lives in Puerto Rico, but created by local hands as well. A fun fact about Ni|BEACHWEAR, we’re a brand founded by two women and manufactured by the Apparel Lab, a group founded and led by women.
